3 Ingredient Taco Seasoning

Updated: May 4, 2020

There are a few things that I love about this seasoning! First, the ingredients that are used, are ones that I always have on hand! Secondly, unlike pre-made seasoning packets, your not putting preservatives and ingredients that you can't pronounce in your food. Lastly, it only cost pennies to make!

These are the 3 ingredients you will need... Chili powder, garlic salt and cumin. We use ALOT of chili powder and garlic salt and find it more economical to buy them in bulk. Unfortunately, Costco stopped carrying it so the only place I have been able to find McCormick Chili powder is Amazon. Thank goodness for Prime!

Now all you have to do is combine your seasoning! I love the look of the layers! Seasoning art!! Sooo pretty!!

Now give it a good shake--- really get in to it because you don't want salty tacos!

3 Ingredient Taco Seasoning

2 TBS chili powder ( I use McCormick)

1 1/2 TBS garlic salt

½ TBS cumin

  1. In a small bowl combine the three ingredients

  2. Put in a small jar with a tight fitting lid

Making Taco Meat

1 pound ground beef or turkey

1/4 cup diced fresh onion

4 tsp taco seasoning

When cooking a batch...

  • Brown ground beef or ground turkey with fresh onion

  • Drain grease

  • add 1/4 cup of water and taco seasoning

  • cook until water had cooked out

This recipe is so easy to make you will never want to buy a packet of seasoning again! Talk about a great way to save some money!
