Crockpot Tri Tip Sandwiches

Updated: Jun 19, 2020

When I was pregnant with my second daughter, I caved these sandwiches like no other! Now that I no longer have a baby human growing inside of me, I am still crazy about them! I love that these sandwiches are so easy to make! I throw them in the crockpot in the morning and by dinner time, they are done and ready to eat! It's always wonderful to be able to enjoy a delicious dinner after a long day!

Another thing that is really nice about this recipe is that the meat (uncooked) and all the ingredients can be combined in a freezer bag, and thrown in the freezer for up to three months. That way on those busy mornings it can be pulled out of the freezer and placed directly in the crockpot! Talk about a convenient meal! Can it get any easier!?

First, place the tri-tip roast in the crockpot and then add all the remaining ingredients.

Cook on low 8-10 hours. Beware...the aroma will make you want to dive in early to try it out, but be strong and wait for it to finish!

Remove the roast and shred the meat. After cooking that long it will just fall apart! Use two forks to separate the meat. Discard fat.

Place the meat back in the crockpot and cook an additional 30 minutes. This is where the magic happens...the meat will soak up some of the delicious juice which makes this recipe so mouth- watering!

Drain the liquid and place into individual serving bowls.

Serve the meat on a sandwich roll or baguette with a slice of cheese and/or slices of onion. Present with the a-jus sauce on the side.
