This recipe is so easy and so good! It tastes like enchilada sauce that you would get from a Mexican restaurant. It only takes about 5 minutes to whip up and is so much tastier than the sauce that you get in a jar...and cheaper too! For an entire batch, it cost about a quarter!

Easy Enchilada Sauce

1 tsp oil

2 tsp garlic

2 tsp salt

2 TBS chili powder (I use McCormick)

2 Cups water

3/8 Cup flour

  1. In a saucepan, saute garlic in the oil.

  2. After a couple minutes, add salt and chili powder.

  3. Add water and slowly whisk in flour.

  4. Stir until thickened to desired consistency ( about a minute).

Use this recipe with batch of enchiladas or by simply making wet burritos with this sauce smothered on top.
